Garden Structures

  • Garden structures are any architectural element you use in your backyard or landscape. Mixing the natural rise and fall of your landscape with structural elements like pergolas, arbors and trellises make your backyard more interesting.
  • Pergolas, arbors and trellises are all open structures that make use of lattice to achieve an integrated, but covered area. Many gardeners use climbing and flowering vines, like snap dragons, morning glories and wisteria to add color to their garden structures.
  • Gazebos, cabanas, sunrooms, pool houses, and garden sheds are garden structures that look more like traditional buildings. Though they can all be opened up, these structures usually offer more enclosed coverage.
  • Garden bridges, trail bridges, walking bridges and pedestrian bridges all provide valuable foot paths on rocky, muddy or unstable outdoor terrain. Besides adding beauty, well-constructed outdoor bridges also make more parts of a landscape accessible.
